history

The band Hob Goblin (the name of a jumping goblin in Irish mythology ) was founded in 1975 a. a. by Martin Meinschäfer, Hans-Jörg Müller, Klaus Wachsmuth, Bernd Köhne and Bernd Wagner in Bad Sooden-Allendorf. After Meinschäfer's return to the Sauerland in 1978, the band in Neheim-Hüsten was revived with Martin Meinschäfer, Wolf-Dietrich Hering, Rainer Schauerte, Lutz Wichert and Udo Strasser. In 1981 they moved to Frankfurt, where the band re-founded. Members: Dittmar Becker, Udo Pipper, Martin Meinschäfer, Stefan Wildhirt, Jürgen Werle and Lorenz Allacher. In the course of Rhein-Main strikes back , a concerted action by the Hessian bands Rodgau Monotones , Flatsch , Die Crackers , Hob Goblin and Feinbein, national ambitions were developed. In this context, various changes were made in the line-up, which made the band much more professional.

After the first beginnings of a theater and music formation with pantomimes , which accompanied the music with appropriate gestures during the performances, Hob Goblin soon developed into a classic rock / pop band, stylistically based on Anglo-American models (e.g. The Tubes ) leaned against. Catchy melodies and sometimes humorous texts were a trademark.
