The city hall, which can accommodate up to 4,000 guests, was inaugurated on May 21, 1966. Designed as a multi-purpose hall from the start, the hall could be used for a wide variety of purposes, for example for the handball Bundesliga games of SG Dietzenbach or the recording of television shows such as Zum Blauen Bock . By the end of the 1960s, 30 Beat Beat Beat broadcasts with artists such as The Kinks , The Troggs and The Animals were recorded in the town hall .

In the 1970s, various international top stars appeared in the hall and made them known nationwide, including bands such as Deep Purple , The Who and the Jackson Five with Michael Jackson. In the 1990s, urgently needed renovation work was carried out. Since then, more and more major events have taken place again, such as a boxing match by Wladimir Klitschko in 1997.
