The Hobby caravan factory, Ing. Harald Striewski GmbH with 24% market share in Germany one of the largest caravan manufacturer in the world and the largest employer and largest volume of sales company in Rendsburg-Eckernförde . With around 1000 employees in the main factory, Hobby produces around 10,000 caravans and around 1,100 mobile homes per year in its factory in Fockbek near Rendsburg ( Schleswig-Holstein ) on an operating area of around 260,000 square meters, of which around 60,000 are built on. Fendt Caravan GmbH in Mertingen (Bavaria) has been part of the Hobby Group since 1998 . The annual turnover is around EUR 255 million. Of the 80 to 100 caravans that are manufactured every day, around 47% are exported. Fendt mobile homes have also been produced in the main Fockbeck plant since 2007, but the caravans continue to be produced in Mertingen.
