The Hochhut Technical Collection is a foundation for the preservation of historic vehicles , motorcycles and engines , based in the Gallus district of Frankfurt . It is part of the Route of Industrial Culture Rhein-Main .

The collection arose from a private hobby of the entrepreneur Fritz Hochhut, who collected vehicles, engines, steam engines , Stirling engines and other parts from the fields of drives and vehicles for several decades . After his death in 1999, the collection was converted into a foundation by former employees. The Hochhut company, which sells and rents construction machinery and compressors , still exists today.
