The flood retention basin Bruchbachtal-Büderich or in short "flood retention basin Büderich" is a flood retention basin near Werl , district Büderich in the district of Soest in North Rhine-Westphalia , which is operated by the water association Obere Lippe .

The basin is a "green basin". It only dams the Schellenbach during high water , which flows over the Salzbach and the Ahse to the Lippe .

The construction material of the dam is a cohesive soil, which is interspersed with stones. The dam has no special seal except for a sealing spur in the subsurface.

With the bottom outlet , 2.35 m³ / s can be released in the event of a full build-up.
