The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kasese ( lat. : Dioecesis Kasesensis ) is in Uganda located diocese of the Roman Catholic Church based in Kasese .

history

The diocese was formed on March 6, 1989 by Pope John Paul II from part of the diocese Fort Portal . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Mbarara as a suffragan . In 2004, 201,248 Catholics belonged to the diocese, which corresponds to 43.1% of the total population on the 3,205 km² of the area of ​​responsibility.
