The Gollentaler Grund flood retention basin is a flood retention basin near Bad Wünnenberg in the Paderborn district in North Rhine-Westphalia , which is operated by the Obere Lippe water association. The basin is a "green basin". The Wiele in the Gollentaler Grund is only dammed up during floods. It flows over the Afte and Alme into the Lippe .
The construction material of the dam is rock fill (a so-called skirmish lime), while an inclined clay core serves as a seal. With the bottom outlet , 7.7 m³ / s can be discharged in the event of a full build-up.
