Hockey Series Open 2018/19 (women)
The Hockey Series Open 2018/19 of women is the first edition of the first round of the Hockey Series . It began in June 2018 and is expected to end in September 2018. Fifteen nations qualify for the next round, the Hockey Series Finals 2018/19 .
Attendees
All associations that are not already involved in the Hockey Pro League may participate in the Hockey Series Open . In addition, of all the nations that register, the nine best placed on the world rankings have already qualified for the Hockey Series Finals. The following participants have been determined (as of August 2018):
Salamanca
From June 5th to 10th the first tournament of the Hockey Series Open took place in Salamanca , Mexico . Participants were five North and Central American associations. The placements were determined after a simple everyone-against-everyone round. The United States won, and together with Mexico they also qualified for the next round.
In parallel, a men's tournament of the Hockey Series Open was held.

Singapore
The tournament in Singapore took place from June 23 to July 1, 2018. The format envisaged an everyone-against-everyone group stage with subsequent placement games. Singapore was the winner and qualifier for the next round. In parallel, a men's tournament of the Hockey Series Open was held.

Wattignies
The tournament was held from July 6th to 8th in Wattignies , France . The placements were determined in each-against-everyone group stage. The winner was Belarus, which qualified for the next round together with Russia and France.

Port Vila
From August 15th to 18th the tournament took place in Port Vila , Vanuatu . Participants were oceanic island states. The mode consisted of an everyone-against-everyone group stage followed by placement games. The tournament was not played in a large field format (with 11 players per team), but in the so-called "Hockey's 5" format, with only five players per team, on a smaller field and with slightly modified rules. The winner and qualified for the next round was Fischi.
A men's tournament of the Hockey Series Open was held at the same time.
