Hodoyoshi-4 ( Japanese ほ ど よ し 4 号 , Hodoyoshi 4-gō ) is an experimental Earth observation satellite from the University of Tokyo .
It was launched into sun-synchronous orbit on June 19, 2014 at 19:11 UTC with a Dnepr launcher from the Jasny Cosmodrome (along with 36 other satellites, including Deimos-2 , KazEOSat-2 , Hodoyoshi-3 ).
The three-axis stabilized satellite is equipped with a four-channel multispectral camera (blue 450–520 nm, green 520–600 nm, red 630–690 nm and infrared 730–900 nm) with a resolution of 6 m and a swath width of 30 km. The energy supply is provided by solar cells with 100 watts of power (payload required about 50 watts) and lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 5.8 Ah. The satellite is controlled via an S-band radio link with 4 kbps uplink and 4/32/64 kbps downlink. The data is transmitted in the X-band with 10 or 100 MBps. The track control assume Xenon - ion engines .
