The Hobson's Tarn is a lake in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The lake is on the west side of Claife Heights , a ridge that separates Windermere to the east from Esthwaite Water to the west. The lake has an unnamed inflow on its north side and an unnamed outflow on its south side that connects it to Robinson's Tarn .
The lake has been part of the Claife Tarns and Mires Site of Special Scientific Interest since 1985 . The lake, along with the Moss Eccles Tarn , the Three Dubs Tarn and a number of other smaller bodies of water, supports up to 12 species of dragonflies and has a rich biodiversity of aquatic plants.
