The Schmalenburg farm complex is located in the Lendersdorf district of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia in the street Schmalenburg 2 , opposite the Weckshof .

The court, known as Schmalenburg, was owned by the counts and later dukes of Jülich-Kleve-Berg . A stucco coat of arms, approx. 80 × 80 cm in size, which still exists on Schmalenburg today, shows the Jülich lion . It used to adorn a bedroom on the first floor. The building remained in Jülich ownership until 1750. A so-called "Herbergestall", which was destroyed in a fire in 1902, belonged to the house. It was used to accommodate the carriages and teams of guests.

From 1758 the Schmalenburg was owned by the Künster family. Heinrich Künster, born 1704, a son of Peter Künsters, who had the Welk house built (south of Pimminich ) around 1730/1740 , bought the farm. One of the descendants , Josef Künster, served in Napoleon's Russian army , deserted and fled to Lendersdorf. His relatives kept him hidden for a long time in a tower that stood on the courtyard side of today's kitchen. The tower was demolished in the 1960s. At that time a cooperage was built in its place . The Schmalenburg was inherited by the Bongartz, Krudewich and Hennecke families to the current owners, the Thuir family.

Originally, the facility was much larger, the economic areas extended to the pond. These buildings fell victim to a fire in 1904 and were rebuilt at their current location and the roof was renewed in the old style around 1925.

The Schmalenburg is a courtyard complex with a two-storey main house with a rectangular tower. The west gable is curved. The complex consists of quarry stone masonry .

The building is registered under No. 3/001 in the list of monuments of the city of Düren.
