history

Bernhard Bschorn is named as the first owner of the Hofmark Hofdorf. In 1368 Andre is the owner, in 1379 Ulrich der Seman from the Seman zu Mangern family, and in 1437 Hans der Seman is mentioned as the owner of the Hofmark. The Seman was followed by the Rorbach, followed by the Closen until 1626 , then the Eisenreich.

In 1580 the property is described as follows: "The castle and the seat of Hofdorf, including the Hofbauer or Sedlhof, which Andre Laimbeckh, farmer owns, is not a closed Hofmark". Esterthal, Rogau, five houses in Dengkofen and one house in Ettenkofen also belonged to Hofdorf . In 1599 the mill in Dengkofen also belonged to Hofdorf, but it burned down in 1640. In 1723 Maximiliana Johanna Freifrau von Eisenreich bequeathed her property in Hofdorf to her cousin Ferdinand Freiherr von Stromer zu Jetzendorf, who sold it to Baron von Lerchenfeld in Mengkofen in 1740 .

The last remains of the former swamp around Hofdorf only disappeared when the Aiterach was drained and the canal was built by the Reich Labor Service . As part of the regional reform , the municipality of Hofdorf in the district of Dingolfing was incorporated into the larger municipality of Mengkofen on July 1, 1972.
