Hofeld-Mauschbach is a part of the municipality of Namborn , St. Wendel district , Saarland and forms its own municipality. Until the end of 1973 Hofeld-Mauschbach was an independent municipality. Hofeld-Mauschbach is the seat of the Namborn municipal administration (converted former schoolhouse) due to its central location and convenient transport links.

As part of the regional and administrative reform in Saarland , the previously independent municipality of Hofeld-Mauschbach was assigned to the municipality of Namborn on January 1, 1974.

Parish affiliation

The parish affiliation of the district Hofeld-Mauschbach was different for the former parts Hofeld and Mauschbach. Both initially belonged to the parish of St. Wendelin in St. Wendel. In 1792 Hofeld came to the parish of Furschweiler. Mauschbach came with Baltersweiler in 1931 to the parish of St. Anna in St. Wendel and later to the new parish of Baltersweiler.
