History and architecture

The on the Zeiler gravel field at an altitude of 760  m above sea level. NN standing chapel was built in 1948 by master mason Marcel Kellermann. Nearby are the Wachbühl lookout point and the “Galgengrube” , above which an armacross from 1810 reminds of a place of execution of the Waldburg-Zeil rule .

The non geostete chapel has a vorkragendes gable roof , which spans the south and east partly open entrance area. The entrance with a walled area on the north side is supported on the south side by a wooden turned column. Old tombstones were sometimes used for the masonry. The round windows on the north and south sides are lead glazed. The roof is covered with roof tiles, the roof turret on the west gable with sheet metal. Since the building has no basement and no floor slab , there have been subsidence and cracks in the masonry over time . A plaster pietà is placed above the altar .

Kellermann built the chapel in memory of his son, who drowned in the Schugge pond at the Sebastiansaul farm about a kilometer away.
