The Hofsee is a lake near Kargow- Unterdorf in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , in whose municipal area there is also a Hofsee in the Federow district and, as the largest of the three lakes of the same name, the Hofsee bei Speck.
The water has a size of 14.7 hectares and is 65 m above sea level. NHN . The maximum size of the lake is 570 meters by 310 meters. It has neither an above-ground inflow nor an outflow. There are meadows around the lake, and a dirt road leads along its west bank.
Kargow station on the Lloydbahn is only 250 meters away , and the eastern part of the Mecklenburg Southern Railway branches off directly on the southern shore of the lake and is only used for freight traffic.
