Valerio Olgiati

Valerio Olgiati (born July 18, 1958 in Chur ) is an internationally active Swiss architect .

Life

Valerio Olgiati was born in 1958 as the son of the Bündner architect Rudolf Olgiati and studied architecture at the ETH Zurich from 1980 to 1986 . From 1993 to 1995 he ran an architecture office in Los Angeles with Frank Escher and opened his own office in Zurich in 1996 , which moved to Flims in 2008 . From 1998–2000 he was a visiting professor at the ETH Zurich and in 2002 at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London , and in 2005 he was visiting professor at Cornell University in Ithaca , New York State . Since 2002 Valerio Olgiati has been a full professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Mendrisio. In autumn 2009 he leads the Kenzō Tange Chair at Harvard University , Cambridge , USA .
