location

The Krakower Chaussee leads from the north-west into the village and branches off at the Linstow manor as Landstrasse 204 to the north-west. To the south, Hofstrasse leads across the fog to the manor house. The house stands a few meters northwest on a piece of land that is fenced in .

History and use

Towards the end of the Second World War , numerous Wolhynia Germans who had recently been resettled in the Warthegau fled again. 73 families came to Linstow and received around 10 hectares of arable land each as part of the land reform in Germany . One of the families who settled after 1945 built a traditional house in Linstow in 1947. After the fall of the Wall in 1990, it was reconstructed by the municipality and converted into a museum. The opening took place on August 6, 1993. In addition to its museum function, the building serves as a memorial and meeting place, which was expanded in the following years to include an outdoor area of around 3000 m² with an earth cellar, an oven, a draw well, a memorial stone and a farm building. An education and museum barn was added to the ensemble from September 2004 to May 2005 . The museum is supported and operated by a local history association founded in 1993.

Building description

It has a rectangular floor plan and can be entered from the east through a small, tall rectangular door. Left and right are two small windows each. The north and south walls are closed; on the eastern gable is a boarded door; a large window on the west gable. The simple gable roof is covered with straw and reeds.
