Hohenberg is a hamlet that belongs to the municipality of Sulzbach-Laufen in the Schwäbisch Hall district in northeastern Baden-Württemberg .

Hohenberg is located near the northeast border of the Sulzbach-Laufen municipality, almost at the northern end of a long but only 600 m wide clearing island, which stretches northeast on the plateau between the right Kocher tributaries of Nägelesbach and Heiligenbach . It is the largest settlement with fewer than 50 buildings - the highest house number is 29. The hamlet is accessed by the K 2633, which runs west-east here and Sulzbach in the south-west via the Kohlwalder clearing island immediately to the north-west and some forest stretches to the east of Hohenberg with Wegstetten and Untergröningen in the south, and HinterbüchelbergPommertsweiler in the southeast (all municipality Abtsgmünd ) and Gerabronn and Heilberg in the northeast (municipality Bühlerzell ) connects. The road soon enters the forest east of the hamlet, forks and is a dust path over long distances, although it is a public driveway. A short stub road connects the hamlet with the nearby Altenberg detached house in the south, a little road leads to the northwest via Hof Uhlbach and the Kohlwald clearing island in the west back to K 2633.

Hohenberg lies on a small ridge that is used by the opening road, over which the watershed between the Kocher in the south and the Bühler in the north runs. The Nägelesbach begins less than 50 paces south of the edge of the settlement and runs through the Abtsklinge to the south and then south-west to the Kocher, and just under a kilometer west of the center of the hamlet is the origin of the Heiligenbach , which flows a few steps before its confluence with the Nägelesbach . The Hohenbergbach begins a little over 100 m northwest , about 500 m north of the Uhlbach , about 200 m east of the edge of the settlement there is a mostly dry channel that continues in the stream through the Hahnenklinge ; these three flow north over the Hahnbach to the Bühler. What is noticeable is the speed with which the rather small brooks indulge here.

About 500 m south-southeast of the center of the settlement lies the summit of the wooded Altenberg , which towers over the hamlet by about 70 m. Since autumn 2007 it has been carrying the rebuilt Altenbergturm observation tower , which has been well received and which now revitalizes the sparsely populated area on weekends.
