history
The name Hohenbuchbach is derived from the Puechpecken, the Buchbach local nobility, who owned a castle in what is now the local area from 1215 to 1600.
From 1752 to 1848 Hohenbuchbach Hofmark was under the Neumarkt nursing court .
The name Hohenbuchbach has not been used officially for a long time. In 1982 the name of the hamlet was reintroduced and the 4 properties have had the name in their postal address ever since.
