Hohenroth is a district of the city of Gemünden am Main in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart in Bavaria . 187 inhabitants live in Hohenroth.

history

In 1810 the Hohenroth estate, together with the Zollberger inn, was assigned to the community of Schaippach under Napoleonic rule.

In 1862, the district office of Gemünden am Main was formed, on whose administrative area Hohenroth was located. In 1872 the Gemünden District Office was incorporated into the Lohr am Main District Office . It was not until 1902 that the Gemünden District Office was re-established. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Hohenroth now belonged to the district of Gemünden am Main . With the dissolution of the district of Gemünden a-Main on July 1, 1972, Hohenroth came to the newly formed district of Main-Spessart .

On the former Hohenroth estate, SOS Children's Village Germany has been running the Hohenroth SOS Village Community for people with mental and multiple disabilities since 1978 .
