Hohenvolkfien is a district of the municipality of Waddeweitz in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . The B 493 runs south of the village . About 200 meters north-northeast of Hohenvolkfien is grave 2 of the megalithic graves near Gohlau .

history

Hohenvolkfien was originally a municipality in the Lüchow district and was incorporated into the Gohlau municipality in 1929 , which in turn became part of the Waddeweitz municipality on July 1, 1972. For the year 1848, eight residential buildings with 63 inhabitants are recorded in the statistical manual for the Kingdom of Hanover. At that time the place belonged to Voigtei Clenze of the Lüchow office and was also called Hohen-Volkfien .
