Hohenwart is a church village in the municipality of Mehring in the Upper Bavarian district of Altötting .

history

In Hohenwart there was a castle of the Counts of Tegernwang, which has since been abandoned. Today's Catholic Church of St. Nikolaus in Hohenwart, a side church of Mehring, is a stately tuff block construction from around 1470. Hohenwart has been part of the rural community of Mehring since the municipal edict of 1818.

economy

Several service and production companies have settled in the Hohenwart industrial park thanks to the good transport links to the B12. This is also due to the proximity to Burghausen and the industrial companies there such as Wacker-Chemie AG and the OMV Deutschland GmbH refinery, as well as the Gendorf plant , formerly Hoechst AG .
