The residential building at Hohenzollernstrasse 64 is in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The building was built around 1900. It was entered under No. H 098 on November 17, 1997 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

location

The Hohenzollernstrasse is located in the northern urban expansion area directly opposite the Colorful Garden and the Kaiser-Friedrich-Halle .

architecture

It is a three-storey plastered building on three axes with a flat sloping gable roof . Essentially the traditional facade structure of the Rhenish three-window house with emphasis on the first floor in the sense of a bel étage . Horizontal division and structuring through plinth, floor, sill, protruding roof cornice as well as through suggested cuboid imitations on the ground floor and joint cuts on the upper floors. The building is accessed through the deeply cut entrance niche on the left.

The windows of the first two storeys are designed as uniform, vertically closing vertical rectangles with a design that varies from storey to storey. All openings on the ground floor are decorated with a masked keystone ; the windows on the first floor are framed with a round arch crown above shell ornamentation. Geometric decorative elements or balusters ( bay windows ) in the parapet areas . The windows on the second floor are rounded off by arches. They are framed by a suspected cornice frame with crown jewelery . The roof is broken by three more recent dormers .
