The election and term of office of the members is regulated in Art. 157 Paragraphs 2, 3, 4 of the Turkish Constitution. These are:

organization

The court consists of two senates, each with seven - five military judges and two officers - members. In addition, the Senates each have three reporters from the ranks of the military judges, but they are not members of the court. The number of senates can be increased to three by the Ministry of Defense - with the approval of the Chief of Staff - and reduced to two in the same way.

There is also the seven-member Senate Committee. Chaired by the President, this consists of the Senate Presidents and a military judge and an officer from both Senates, who are each elected for one year by the other Senate members.

The Chairman's Council consists of the President, the Senate Presidents and the senior senate members, i.e. a total of five members.

In addition, the President, the Advocate General, the Senate Presidents and the longest-serving member of the court form the High Disciplinary Committee.

If all members of the court meet, the general committee is formed.

A member from the ranks of the military judges is elected Secretary General by the Presiding Council.
