The person in charge of the broadcast is Fritz Jungmayr , the director is Hans Bürger .

history

On May 21, 1969, television cameras were permitted for the first time in the plenary hall of the National Council. From 1972 to 1975, a program entitled The House of Representatives summarized what was happening in Parliament. After that, parliamentary reporting was part of ZIB 2 .

On December 8, 1979, a redesigned pilot went on air for a parliamentary magazine. In addition to summaries of the plenary debates, the House of Representatives now also brought background reports on the political work on the legislative process and on other events related to parliament. The new concept convinced those responsible and on January 26, 1980 the series started with the first episode. The program has been on the program weekly since March 1995, previously the magazine was only broadcast every two weeks and on Saturdays. Since May 18, 2008, the program has been reporting from the ORF newsroom.

In 2017 the show was awarded the Walther Rode Prize .
