Patricia Pawlicki (born October 22, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian television journalist . From 2007 to 2019 she presented the ORF parliamentary magazine Hohes Haus , and since November 2019 the world journal .

Life

Patricia Pawlicki was born as the daughter of the pianist and composer Norbert Pawlicki and the costume designer Ariane Maino. After graduating from high school in 1984, she studied journalism , political science and communication science at the University of Vienna , completing her studies in 1997 with a thesis on the subject of communication in the treatment outcome: selected aspects of the patient-doctor relationship; an analysis of Anglo-American literature as a Magistra.

She has been working for ORF since 1988 , initially as an editor for the domestic report and the follow-up program, Report , from 1995 also for the world journal . From 1994 and 1996 she presented the midday magazine and the program Tages talk on 3sat . From the end of 2001 to the beginning of 2004 she was a foreign correspondent in Berlin for ORF . In September 2006, she moved to the ORF's cultural department, where she presented the program Treffpunkt Kultur .

From 2007 to 2019 she presented the parliamentary magazine Hohes Haus on ORF 2 every Sunday , and she also regularly moderated the ORF press hour . From 2017, she will alternate with Tarek Leitner to lead the ORF program Runder Tisch on current events, thus succeeding Ingrid Thurnher .

Patricia Pawlicki is married to Helmut Brandstätter , from 2013 to 2019 publisher and from 2010 to 2018 editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Kurier . After the 2019 National Council election and her husband's entry into the National Council for NEOS , she handed over the moderation of the parliamentary magazine Hohes Haus . She was represented by Rebekka Salzer during the National Council election campaign in September 2019. She has been presenting the world journal since November 2019 .
