Norbert Pawlicki

Norbert Pawlicki (born March 4, 1923 in Vienna ; † July 15, 1990 there ) was an Austrian pianist and composer .

Life

Norbert Pawlicki played the piano from the age of 6 and also mastered all keyboard instruments. As a 10-year-old he wrote his first compositions. He broke off his medical studies and attended the music academy in Vienna . His teachers were Alfred Uhl (composition) and Hans Swarowsky (conducting), in 1950 he completed his studies with a diploma.

Pawlicki became Kapellmeister in the Ronacher establishment , in the Wiener Kammerspiele and in the Renaissance theater . He later came to the radio, where he provided music to more than 10,000 programs. As an arranger and pianist he worked on programs by Maxi Böhm : “The great opportunity” , Karl Farkas : “Balance of the month” and, after the death of Gustav Zelibor, on What's new? By Heinz Conrads with. As musical director at the Vienna Volkstheater , he contributed to the success of the legendary Nestroy productions by Gustav Manker . As a pianist, he accompanied such well-known performers as Maria Andergast , Paul Hörbiger and Hans Moser .

He composed, edited and arranged Viennese songs, dance, cabaret and light music as well as music for radio and television plays.

Norbert Pawlicki was buried on August 7, 1990 in an honorary grave in the Neustift cemetery (group U2, number 184) in Vienna.

His daughter Patricia Pawlicki , with the COURIER editor in chief Helmut Brandstätter married, ORF - journalist and moderates among others, the mission of the House, .
