Hohwald (Saxony)
Hohwald was a district belonging to a municipality about 35 km southeast of Dresden directly on the Czech border. It existed from 1994 to 2007 and was named after the Hohwald forest area .

The community of Hohwald was created on January 1, 1994 through the merger of the communities of Berthelsdorf, Rückersdorf and Langburkersdorf. Districts were Berthelsdorf , Langburkersdorf , Niederottendorf , Oberottendorf , Rückersdorf and Rugiswalde .
Around 5000 inhabitants lived in the municipality on an area of 58.9 km², which is between 318 and 585 m above sea level. NN lies.
In a referendum on May 13, 2007, the residents decided to merge with the city of Neustadt in Saxony , which took place on August 1, 2007.
