Oberottendorf is a district of Neustadt in Saxony in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .
geography
Oberottendorf is located east of the Saxon state capital Dresden in the transition area between the Lausitzer Bergland and Saxon Switzerland . It is located in the north of the city of Neustadt in Saxony and thus in the northeast of the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains. The Waldhufendorf , whose appearance is determined by numerous three-sided farms , is located in the valley of the Ottendorfer Dorfbach, which drains over the Lohbach into the Polenz .
The Hohwald begins in the far north-east of the 857 hectare corridor . In this direction the terrain rises towards Valtenberg , on the slope of which there is a large quarry where lamprophyres are extracted. The corridors around Oberottendorf are mostly used for agriculture. Niederottendorf is directly connected to the southeast . In the southwest, the Oberottendorf district borders on Rückersdorf , another Neustädter district. Neighboring to the west is the Großdrebnitz district of Bischofswerda and the Putzkau district of Schmölln- Putzkau to the north , both of which belong to the Bautzen district .
The most important street on Oberottendorfer Flur is the state road 156 from Bischofswerda to Neustadt in Saxony, which bypasses the place to the west. Oberottendorf itself is mainly developed through the Bischofswerdaer Straße, which, with the exception of the Oberdorf, largely follows the Ottendorfer Dorfbach. The Bahnhofstrasse branches off from here and connects to the stop on the Bautzen – Bad Schandau railway line west of the village center and to Rückersdorf. Oberottendorf is connected to the regional bus network of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains (RVSOE) .
