Location of Rugiswalde in Saxony

Rugiswalde is a district of Neustadt in Saxony in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district on the border with the Czech Republic .

geography

Rugiswalde is located east of the Saxon state capital Dresden in the transition area between the Lausitzer Bergland and Saxon Switzerland . It is located in the southeast of the city of Neustadt in Saxony and thus in the northeast of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district. The Waldhufendorf is located in the valley of the Frohnbach, which drains over the Luční potok (Heimichbach) into the Sebnitz . Almost half of the 485 acres, especially the area to the south and west, is forested. In a southerly direction the terrain rises to the Ungerberg ( 537.2  m above sea  level ); in winter there is a ski lift on the slope. The corridors in the immediate vicinity of Rugiswalde are largely used for agriculture.

The eastern border of the Rugiswalde district is the German federal border with the Czech Republic. Neighboring to the east are the districts of Nová Víska (Neudörfel) and Horní Poustevna (upper settlement) of the North Bohemian town of Dolní Poustevna ( lower settlement ). In addition, Rugiswalde borders on the other Neustadt districts of Langburkersdorf in the north and Krumhermsdorf in the far west. To the south is the Sebnitz district of Schönbach , in the extreme south the Sebnitz district borders.

The most important street on Rugiswalder Flur is the Sebnitzer Straße, which runs as state road 154 from Neustadt in Saxony to Sebnitz and touches the place in the southwest. The local situation Rugiswalde itself is mainly developed through the valley road, which largely follows the Frohnbach and ends at a border crossing for hikers. Rugiswalde is connected to the regional bus network of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains (RVSOE) . The next stops on the Bautzen – Bad Schandau railway line are the Sebnitz (Sachs) and Neustadt (Sachs) stations.
