Holger Czitrich-Stahl (born November 6, 1960 in Isenstedt ) is a German historian and teacher.

Live and act

Holger Czitrich (since 1996 Czitrich-Stahl) completed a teaching degree in history and social science from 1980 to 1989 at Bielefeld University . Since 1992 he has been working as a teacher in Berlin.

At the Söderblom-Gymnasium Espelkamp he worked on the socialist school newspaper "Klassenbuch" and was a member of the socialist school group Espelkamp and the young socialists in the SPD. He was a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) from 1978 to 1983 and from 1990 to 2006. During his studies he was involved in the Socialist University Association (SHB), later in the Marxist Student Association (MSB Spartakus) and was a member of the Germans from 1983 to 1989 Communist Party (DKP). 2014 he was at the University of Hagen Dr. phil. PhD in history. His doctoral supervisor is Peter Brandt .

His research focuses on the history of the German labor movement in the German Empire, during the November Revolution and the Weimar Republic, as well as the early history of the Federal Republic of Germany. He also published on German conservatism and on the contribution of the SPD to the creation of the German Civil Code (BGB). He is a member of the Archives and Libraries Association for the History of the Labor Movement and has been its chairman since 2018.

Czitrich-Stahl is one of the regular authors of Work - Movement - History , Z. Zeitschrift Marxistische Renewal , articles on the history of the labor movement and the daily newspaper Junge Welt .
