Isenstedt is a district of the East Westphalian town of Espelkamp in North Rhine-Westphalia . Isenstedt has about 2800 inhabitants and is located in the south of the city of Espelkamp.

The mayor is Reinhard Bösch ( SPD ). The village community chairman is Armin Jungbluth (since March 6, 2014).

history

The first documented entries go back to 1242 . The name comes from the Low German "Isenstiee" and means "Eisenstätte". On January 1, 1973, Isenstedt was incorporated into Espelkamp. A part of the area with a little more than 100 inhabitants was awarded to Lübbecke. In 2008 the village took part in the competition “Our village has a future”.
