Holger Hans-Peter Kliewe (born March 9, 1963 in Bergen / Rügen ) is a German farmer , entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1981, Kliewe did his military service with the NVA . He then took up a degree in agricultural sciences with a focus on animal production at the University of Rostock , which he completed with an examination as a graduate agricultural engineer. He then worked at VEG Ummanz, from 1988 as a department manager. After the political change in the GDR , he worked as a self-employed entrepreneur and in September 1991 founded the Kliewe farm and poultry farm in Ummanz , which he expanded as a co-owner in the following years to become the “Kliewe Adventure Farm”. The farm includes a farm with an attached farm shop, restaurant and riding business.

Kliewe has been the mayor of Ummanz since the beginning of 2013. He is also a member of the district council in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen . In the state elections in September 2016 , he was elected to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as a direct candidate for the CDU via constituency 33 (Vorpommern-Rügen IV) . He won the direct mandate with 25.8% of the first votes .

In addition to his professional and political activities, Kliewe is a board member of the Rügen Products Association and a member of the Rügen Farmers' Association. He has also been a member of the board of the Rügen Tourism Association as an assessor since 2012.

Holger Kliewe has been married since 1985 and has four children. He lives with his family in Ummanz.
