Holger Patzelt

Holger Patzelt (* 1974 ) has been a professor in the field of business administration with a focus on entrepreneurship at the Technical University of Munich since April 2010 .

Life

Holger Patzelt studied chemistry at the University of Karlsruhe and business administration at the University of Hagen , he received his doctorate in 2003 from the University of Heidelberg in biosciences and in 2006 from the University of Bamberg in economics. From 2005 to 2010 he worked at the Max Planck Institute for Economics in Jena and from 2009 to 2010 he was the deputy director of the Entrepreneurship, Growth and Public Policy department. After completing his habilitation in business administration at the EBS University of Economics and Law in Oestrich-Winkel, he accepted a call from the Technical University of Munich , where on April 1, 2010, he took over the chair for entrepreneurship. In 2016 he was elected a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering ( acatech ).

Holger Patzelt has published in well-known journals, including the Academy of Management Journal , Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies and Nature .

In the Handelsblatt Betriebswirte Ranking 2009, which has been analyzing the research performance of 2,100 business economists in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland based on the quality of publications since 2005, he came in 14th. He received several national and international awards for his research work, including the 2007 Fürth Ludwig-Erhard-Prize for his dissertation on "Biotechnological start-ups in Germany".
