Holger Vitus Nødskov Rune (born April 29, 2003 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish tennis player .

Career

Rune became the Danish U12 mixed winner in 2014 alongside Clara Tauson . Three years later he won the U14 individual European championship. In early 2019, at the age of 15, he became the youngest Danish champion. He is eligible to play as a junior player until 2021. In 2019 he took part in all four Junior Grand Slam tournaments . At the French Open , he became the fourth Dane in history to win a Grand Slam title. In the final, he defeated Toby Kodat in three sets. At the end of the year he won the youth edition of the ATP Finals of the season's best eight juniors. With the tournament victory he reached junior world number 1.

In 2019, the Dane also competed in a handful of professional tournaments on the ITF Future Tour and four times on the ATP Challenger Tour . In Blois and Amersfoort he was able to record his first two match wins on the Challenger Tour. This made him the sixth youngest player of the 21st century to win a match at this level. This enabled him to secure the first points for the world rankings . In mid-2019 he was ranked 555.

In 2018, Rune made his debut for the Danish Davis Cup team at the age of 15 . He was used in the game against Egypt in the insignificant third individual and won the match. His balance is 2: 1.
