Holger Schlierf (* 1954 in Wesel , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German politician without a party . From 2001 to 2015 he was mayor of Hamminkeln .

Life

Schlierf attended the State Old and Modern Language Gymnasium Wesel (today's name Konrad-Duden-Gymnasium Wesel ) and graduated from high school there in 1974 . After the subsequent military service , he studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelmsuniversität Münster . After graduating, he became an assessor in a law firm in Duisburg . He then worked as a district association director in the Wesel district office of the Rhenish Agricultural Association .

1990 Schlierf became the Assistant Secretary- elected the community Hamminkeln. In 1998 he was re-elected. On June 10, 2001, he was elected full-time mayor of the city of Hamminkeln in a direct election that had become necessary due to the death of the previous mayor Heinrich Meyers at the end of 2000. In 2009 he was re-elected. In the mayoral election in 2015, he decided not to run again. Bernd Romanski became the new mayor .

During Schlierf's tenure, the main decisions of the Heimatverein in Dingden, the northern part of the city outside of the actual city, were made to restore the Humberghaus as a historical site in memory of the only Jewish family. Schlierf successfully accompanied the negotiation as a lawyer and as mayor.

Schlierf is married and has three children, a son and two daughters.
