Bernd Romanski

Bernd Romanski (born April 11, 1959 in Sonsbeck ) is a German management consultant and politician ( SPD ). Since October 2015 he has been the mayor of Hamminkeln in the Wesel district .

Life

education and profession

After graduating from high school , he worked for Hochtief AG in Essen and completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk from 1979 to 1982, followed by a degree in business administration at the Administration and Business Academy in Bochum . From 1982 to 1991 Romanski worked as a commercial project manager at Hochtief AG. From 1991 to 1995 he was commercial project manager at Mannesmann Demag in Düsseldorf . This was followed by managerial positions at Hölter ABT in Gladbeck , Krantz TKT in Bergisch Gladbach , M + W Zander in Stuttgart and, most recently, again at Hochtief from 2011 to 2013. He then went freelance as a business consultant with BJR Businessconcepts in Hamminkeln. He is a deputy chairman of the Near and Middle East Association (NUMOV).

Romanski is married and has three children.

Political career

Romanski has been a member of the SPD since April 1, 1975. From 1975 to 1979 he was active with the Jusos in Ringenberg .

On September 13, 2015 Romanski was elected Mayor of Hamminkeln with 52.67% of the votes cast. The previous mayor, Holger Schlierf , had decided not to run again.
