Holger Topp-Pedersen

Holger Topp-Pedersen (born October 13, 1868 in Odense ; † January 5, 1938 there ) was a Danish landscape painter .

Topp-Pedersen was a son of the businessman Anders Christian Pedersen and his wife Mariane Elise (née Topp). He attended the technical school in his hometown. In 1884 he went to Copenhagen and studied there from 1886 to 1891 at the local art academy . He traveled to New York from 1896 to 1897 and repeatedly to Sweden from 1897 onwards . Topp-Pedersen was a drawing teacher at the Technical School in Odense from 1895 to 1935. In 1901 he married Rosa Christine (nee Samuelsen) there. His older brother was the composer Sophus Christian Danning (June 16, 1867 - November 7, 1925).

The artist made a name for himself as the creator of landscape paintings, which almost always show typical Danish coastal and inland landscapes. He was influenced by naturalism and impressionism .
