Holland is a locality in Lucas County , Ohio , United States . The population was 1,306 at the 2000 census.

Geography and traffic

The municipality is bounded on the north by Angola Road, Wexford in the south, from the Holloway Road in the west and by the motorway bypass of Toledo by the Interstate 475 / US Highway 23 in the east. This bypass borders directly on the industrial park of Holland.

A double-track route on the Norfolk Southern Railway runs around 90 trains a day through Holland. The first train drove through the community on May 22, 1852. At that time, a railroad depot was built south of the line on Holloway Road. Together with Springfield Township , Holland wants to build a railway museum here. A historic freight train escort car has already been acquired.

Holland was founded in 1847 and became independent in 1923. At that time the place had 503 inhabitants.
