The district consists of the Hollerich courtyard, which is no longer managed, and lock buildings. It is located on the southern bank of the Lahn federal waterway . The river is dammed by a weir at kilometer 115.1 . The height of the fall is used by a hydropower plant on the opposite north bank of the Lahn, belonging to Nassau . The water outlet is at 115.5 km, where the Elisenhütte factory complex is also located. The metal works was built in 1867 by Freiherr Wilhelm von Rüdiger from Gotha, who initially equipped the works with a 500 HP turbine. The Elisenhütte now houses an ammunition factory that is important for the Bundeswehr. The weir bridge can be passed by pedestrians. Between river kilometers 112 and 115 there is the nature reserve Schleuse Hollerich with an occurrence of the rare dice snake .
