Hollywood Pictures: The Kinomanager is a computer game by the game developers at Sayonara Software around Jo Seitz. It was released in 1995 for the Amiga and distributed by Starbyte . An implementation for the PC followed . The sequel Hollywood Pictures 2 was released on Easter 2007 .
Gameplay
In Hollywood Pictures is an economic simulation , in which you as a manager of a small cinema the necessary capital deserves to themselves to go into the film business.
After this goal has been achieved, the player sets out to produce his own films. First he puts together a script from a series of given keywords and defines the attributes such as tension, violence and feelings on a scale from 1 to 10. Now the recruiting of actors , directors and camera teams follows . After this task is done, the player can order his first film . After a few months, the first film is finished and its box-office income finances the next film project. The game ends after ten simulated years.
particularities
One reason Hollywood Pictures was so popular at the time was the ability to change almost any file. So the actor names, which were on the installation disks to A. Schwarzenacker or similar, could easily be changed. The player could modify scenes and locations with the appropriate image processing programs almost at will, thus creating an individual version of the game.
Hollywood Pictures expanded the range of business simulations to include the opportunity to work as a "Hollywood doer". The successor Hollywood Pictures 2 , released in 2007 , was generally rated as disappointing , especially when compared to The Movies (2005).
