Holmes & Yoyo is an American television series produced by Universal Television in the 1970s and broadcast on ABC from September 26, 1976 .

action

The main characters in this series are the police detective Alex Holmes and a human-like robot , Yoyo. The basic idea of the plot is that while working with Holmes, Alex Holmes previous detective colleagues are repeatedly injured so much for various reasons that they have to be hospitalized, although Holmes himself is never injured.

In order not to have to keep hiring new employees, his supervisor, Captain Sedford, uses the supposedly indestructible Yoyo as Holmes' new colleague, whereby none of the employees of the police station should find out that Yoyo is a robot. Holmes discovered this very quickly, but kept the knowledge to himself. Otherwise nobody notices that Yoyo is not human, so that even a detective falls in love with him.

Yoyo weighs 427 pounds, has a photographic memory, and can print anything he's ever seen as a Polaroid by pressing his nose - the Polaroid comes out of his left shirt pocket.

Charisma

Just three months after it was first broadcast in the fall of 1976, the series was canceled on US television. Just two years later, the series was first broadcast in Germany on ARD's evening programs. Repetitions followed both on ARD and for the last time in 1991 on RTLplus .
