Holosade is an English metal band from Darlington that was formed in 1985 and split up in 1991. In 1994 the band briefly came together before they broke up. The band has been playing concerts again since 2011.

history

The band was formed in 1985 by singer Phillip De Sade. In the same year the first demo Vendetta was released , which was followed by a second demo in 1986, which contained the songs Set Me Free and Only In Love . The band was also represented with the song Cries In the Night on the compilation The Metal Collection by Ebony Records . In early 1986 bassist Kevin Hole left the band and was replaced by Colin Bell. Simon "Jack Hammer" Jones joined the line-up as guitarist. The band then recorded a new demo that included the two songs Love it to Death and Vicious . In 1987 the demo Psycho / Eternal Life was recorded at Impulse Studios by Neat Records , with Paul Evo ( Warfare ) as a producer. Towards the end of the year, drummer Michael "Damien" Lee left the band. Bassist Colin Bell also left the band and was replaced by Mac towards the end of the year. In 1988 the debut album Hell House followed on Powerstation Records . The release was followed by tours with bands like Demon and Skeleton Crew . Although the band was planning a second album, they separated from their label. Guitarist Jones also left the band to join Sabbat in early 1989 , while bassist Mac switched to Acid Reign . Guitarist Paul Trotter and bassist Chris Bently joined the band as a replacement. Andy Barker also joined the cast as the new drummer. After the demo The Return was released in 1989 , the band split up in 1991 after an appearance as the opening act for Venom in the Marquee Club . In 1994 guitarist Jones re-founded the band. The band recorded a second album, but it was never released. The group broke up a little later. In September 2011 the band got back together.

style

The band plays a mix of power and thrash metal that is comparable to the early works of Helstar and Tension . The influences of classic heavy metal are sometimes very audible.
