Holothecium
A holothecium is a form of the fruiting body of mushrooms that has no sterile surface and no differentiated hymenophore , but is cushion-shaped, club-shaped or coral-shaped, sometimes lobed and entirely covered by the hymenophore. The surface can be wrinkled or wrinkled or fine-black. The pilothecium , which has a sterile surface, is derived from this form of fruiting body . There are transitional forms between the two types of fruiting bodies. Forms with a sterile underside such as in the genus Exidia are considered holothecium.
