The Holt Inlet is a bay on the northeast coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago . It is 3 km long, 1.5 km wide and forms the western arm of Lapeyrère Bay . Your entrance is marked south by the hill The Hump .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2007 after Rennie S. Holt, head of the Antarctic Ecosystem Research Group at the Southwest Fisheries Science Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration , under whose leadership the government program for resource conservation in Antarctic waters ( Antarctic Marine Living Resources , AMLR) concerning the South Shetland Islands.
