The Homeward Point (English for Heimwärtsspitze ) is a headland on Doumer Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It forms the west side of the entrance to Security Bay .
Participants of the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot mapped them. Scientists from the Royal Navy Hydrographic Unit , who worked in the area between 1956 and 1957, made the designation. It was named after the fact that the headland served as a prominent landmark on their daily return from the Bismarck Strait to Port Lockroy .
