The Hongjiadu Dam is a large hydroelectric dam in China . The dam stands on the Liuchong He , the northern source river of the Wu Jiang , which is a tributary of the Yangtze. The dam is 154 km from the provincial capital Guiyang in Guizhou .

The hydropower plant is one of a series of several (including the Goupitan Dam and the Wujiangdu Dam ) and has an installed capacity of 540 megawatts (according to other sources, 600 MW). The annual energy production amounts to 1.59 billion kilowatt hours. The hydropower plant went into operation on April 8, 2004.
