Honorius Grieninger
Honorius Grieninger OSB (born December 31, 1741 in Immendingen ; † February 6, 1809 in Kaufbeuren ) was a German Benedictine and the last abbot of the Irsee monastery .
Life
Honorius Grieninger came from Baden. He took his religious vows on October 10, 1762 and was ordained a priest on June 24, 1766. In the monastery he was librarian , professor of mathematics and philosophy and most recently prior when he was elected abbot of Irsee on September 20, 1784. After secularization he lived in the monastery for some time, but moved to Kaufbeuren in 1805, where he died in 1809 and was buried by Abbot Rupert Ehrmann from Isny Monastery.
