Honoya Shōji ( Japanese 庄 司 朋 乃 也 , Shōji Honoya ; born October 8, 1997 in Gunma Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Honoya Shōji learned to play football in the youth team of Cerezo Osaka . Here he signed his first professional contract in 2016. The club from Osaka , a city in Osaka prefecture , played in the second highest Japanese league, the J2 League . The club's U23 team played in the third division, the J3 League . At the end of 2016, the first team occupied fourth place in the J2 table and rose to the first division. From June 2017 to January 2019 he was loaned to the second division side Kanazawa . With the club from Kanazawa he played 63 times in the second division, the J2 League. The 2019 season he played on loan from the first division club Ōita Trinita in Ōita . Here he completed six first division games. In 2020 he returned to Osaka after the loan.
