Honschaft Ellscheid

The Honschaft Ellscheid up to the 19th century, one of the lowest administrative units of the Berg community Ellscheid in the mayoralty Haan in the district Elberfeld the administrative district of Dusseldorf within the Prussian Rhine Province . Before that, the honor belonged to the Mettmann office in the Duchy of Berg from around 1363 .

According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district from 1832, the following towns and places of residence belonged to the Honschaft: Ellscheid , Mahnert and Windfoch .

With the municipal regulations for the Rhine Province in 1845, the Honschaft was transformed into the municipality of Ellscheid.
